The check valve, also known as the check valve, is an automatic valve. It relies on the pressure of the flowing medium in the pipeline to push the valve flap to realize the closing  opening of the valve. According to the structure, check valves can be divided into three types: lift check valves, swing check valves  butterfly check valves. Lift check valve can be divided into two types: vertical type  straight-through type. The swing check valve is divided into three types: single-lobe, double-lobe  multi-lobe. Butterfly check valve is divided into butterfly double flap  butterfly single flap. The connection form of the above check valves can be divided into four types: threaded connection, flange connection, welding  wafer connection.

The purpose of installing the check valve is to ensure the flow direction of the water inside the pump, so as to ensure the normal operation of the pump. Therefore, regarding the installation position of the check valve, whether it is installed in front of the water pump  after the water pump can be divided into two situations:

One is installed at the end of the vertical suction pipe in front of the water pump, also called the bottom valve. The purpose is to fill the water pump once without pumping water, because the water pump can only be idling  cannot pump water when there is no water in the water pump  the suction pipe in front of the pump, so the water pump must be filled with water before water can be pumped out. The installation of this kind of water pump is a method when it is higher than the liquid level, also called the negative pressure method.

The other is installed behind the water pump. This installation method is that when the liquid level is higher than the water pump, it is convenient to start  stop the water pump without closing the water outlet valve of the water pump, especially for the main control water pump system, to prevent backflow.

The check valve must be installed at the outlet of the pump, before the outlet control valve, so that the check valve can be repaired. Generally, the outlet of the pump is a soft connection (shock absorber), followed by a check valve, followed by a block valve (such as a butterfly valve, gate valve, globe valve, etc.) Return valve, especially in parallel pumps, when one pump does  start, its outlet door is closed,  when the other pump starts, the impact force is borne by the gate valve  butterfly valve. After the check valve fails, the inlet  outlet valve isolation systems can be closed for repair.
